Tokyo Table.

so d and i decided to take an adventure to the Diamond Jamboree Shopping Plaza, apparently the talk of the town. i didn't see all the skinny attractive multi-age asians that kohana was lamenting over, but i did see alot of overpriced asian food and stores. we tried Tokyo Table. the food was pretty good but the prices made me lose my appetite. notable was the charsiu pork with japanese scallions, the garlic ahi, the miso cod, the pesto salmon and of course the huge honey toast. after that we went over to the H-Mart where we were wowed by how much kalbi we could eat at home if only we had a grill. :) we peeked into Guppy Cafe, which was exceedingly crowded for what appeared to be typical asian food. we really just wanted to try some shave ice there but could barely get into the door. so we left. we walked through 85C bakery. those long lines of people throwing pastries on their platters reminded me of every chinese bakery i've ever been to and i was pretty unimpressed with the selection anyway.
overall, i was unimpressed with this new overpriced food plaza. maybe i should go in there on a monday night cus i am dying to have some shaved ice. kohana was right. it's just asian food. u shouldn't have to pay that much for it. it seems to be a place to see and be seen.
