The Emerald City.

Seattle has got to be one of the coolest cities i've visited. it's kinda like a more upscale and alternative version of downtown SD, with a hint of SF in there. but it pretty much stands on its own. it's got a unique counterculture eco-friendly aura, multi-ethnic corners, fabulous seafood, the open market, free public transport within the downtown area, and everything within walking distance (if you're motivated). surrounded by elliot bay and many mountain ranges in the distance. we were lucky to catch 4 days of sunny weather, uncharacteristic of late Sept. weather. it was like the sun followed us there. the people seemed very helpful and friendly. the only thing i objected to was the 9% sales tax but hey, someone's got to pay for the free buses! and also the rumor that it rains more than it suns. but as far as i'm concerned, that remains a rumor!
